Cybershed
The CyberShed is our 12-computer IT Suit which opens each afternoon. CyberShed is an extension to the Daylight programme and as such takes the same holistic approach to engage homeless and/or unemployed young people aged 16 - 25 from our accommodation projects as well as the wider community.
In order to continue the learning at Daylight, CyberShed runs a linked programme under similar themes:
| |
Monday |
Life & IT Skills |
| |
Tuesday |
Word Power IT |
| |
Wednesday |
Work skills |
| |
Thursday |
Musical Pursuits |
| |
Friday |
Digital Arts |
CyberShed aims to continue the learning started at Daylight. So if, for example, on a Wednesday the young people had been working on interview techniques at Daylight they might work on job searching or CV building in the evening at CyberShed.
In essence CyberShed works in tandem with Daylight to provide young people with informal education and training in IT. The CyberShed programme is challenging and dynamic and engages young people in a unique way, capturing their imaginations while increasing their skills.
The skills gained at CyberShed are essential in today's cyber-age. The development of good IT skills is key to gaining employment, we are therefore arming young people with skills necessary for a smooth transition into independent living. |
