Funding win for Rushmoor Citizens Advice
and Step by Step
We are delighted to announce that Rushmoor Citizens Advice and Step by Step have secured funding from national volunteering charity, V, amounting to £7,000.
Having formed a successful partnership the two organisations applied for funding to allow young people who have been homeless to volunteer at Aldershot Citizens Advice Bureau and potential train to become CAB advisors. The scheme will be up and running from April 2007.
Naomi Hammond, Step by Step's Youth Development Projects Manager said; "This is a great funding win and it really cements the working partnership we already have with Rushmoor Citizens Advice. This programme will allow young people to gain experience of a working environment. We hope to see very positive outcomes for them at the end of their placements."
Steve Allen, a young person supported by Step by Step, added; "I'm really pleased that we've been able to get this funding because it gives us a chance to volunteer with the CAB. I'm hoping to take part in the scheme, it will be nice to do something which will make a difference in the lives of others."
Step by Step and Rushmoor Citizens advice has enjoyed a successful partnership in recent times. Most recently a debt advisor for Aldershot CAB has been attending Step by Step's Youth Development Projects to advice young people on debt management. With this latest funding win the partnership can only continue to grow.
