Fleet Runners raise a grand

The triumphant team (before the run!): (L-R): Darren Laurie, Ben Alexander, Richard Cox, Bruce Bulgin, Luan Mahoney

Step by Step's coffers are the beneficiaries of an energetic team of supporters who ran in the ASICS Fleet Pre-London Half Marathon in March.

Staff from local financial advisers Chadney Bulgin - Bruce Bulgin, Ian Perren, Richard Cox and Luan Mahoney - along with ex Step by Step project worker Ben Alexander and Darren Laurie, our Chief Executive's brother, raised over £1,000 between them.

Heather Turner, Community Fundraiser said: “We are always very grateful for the support that members of the local community give us by participating in these events. All our funding for Youth Development comes from donations from the local community and charitable trusts. The volatility of the current economic climate means that raising funds has become even more challenging than normal.”

Bruce Bulgin, one of Chadney Bulgin’s partners agrees: “Step by Step do a great job for young people in the area,” he said. “They not only provide accommodation but also a wide range of training and education opportunities. This helps them return to education or to find employment and over the long term it fulfils their potential both personally and within the community.”
