Keelan-Westall's Summer Party raises over £11,000

Commercial property insurance providers Cadogan Keelan Westall and its sister property underwriting company Keelan Westall have both pledged to support Step by Step as part of parent company Barbon Insurance Group's new Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.

Wayne Tonge, Head of Business at Keelan Westall (KW) says: “It’s our 10th anniversary year and our goal is to raise £10,000 by August for this worthwhile cause, so we’ve got a lot to do!”

Employees at the Hampshire-based business have already taken part in some fundraising activities, including car cleaning and a sky dive from 10,000 ft. The main funding raising event will be an Anniversary Summer Party. As well as other money-raising events, members of the KW team are planning to undertake practical work as volunteers with Step by Step, including helping our young people with daily activities such as budgeting, general administrative support in and teaching useful skills like healthy cooking.

Wayne comments: “Step by Step does fantastic work for young adults, not just providing them with accommodation, but teaching them the life skills they require to help them to achieve independence. It costs around £3,100 per annum for Step by Step to help just one person, so we will be delighted if we reach our £10,000 target as it will go towards assisting three more vulnerable youngsters to get their lives back on track.”

Over at Cadogan Keelan Westall (CKW), similarly ambitious fundraising events are being planned, as you can read on their charity page. Not to be outdone by their colleagues, five of the CKW team will be leaping 10,000 ft from an aeroplane on August 28th in a sponsored sky-dive*.

Other activities include a Champagne Reception, a Charity Golf Day & Auction and regular Bake sales; in December they're promising in-house fancy dress and games, too!
