On Monday 16 January, Salesian College presented a cheque for £3,330 to Mrs Caroline Dixon, Youth Aims Manager working in partnership with Step by Step. The money was raised by Sixth Form students at Salesian College who, on 14 December slept out overnight in the College grounds to raise money for the local charity who help homeless and disadvantaged young people in Aldershot, Farnborough and the local area.

Mrs Dixon said “I am extremely grateful to receive this cheque on behalf of the Charity. This money will be used to educate and train young men and women to help them believe in themselves, engage in activities and enable them to get into college or employment.”

Mr Patrick Wilson, Headmaster commented “I am very proud of our Sixth Form students who braved a very cold night to better understand and raise money for a worthy local charity. Sixth Form students at Salesian College have raised over £10,000 for homeless charities such as Step by Step, Crisis at Christmas and The Passage in previous years. However, this year we are particularly delighted to be able to support a charity local to Salesian College and with whom the College has enjoyed strong links for the past three years. We have promised our continued support into the future.”

Step by Step are currently looking for more volunteers. If you would like to find out more about getting involved please call 01252 346100 or email info@stepbystep.org.uk.
