Youth Development
Working in tandem with our accommodation services, our Youth Development projects focus on increasing the skills and building the self-confidence of those accessing the projects. Young people are engaged in an exciting programme of informal education designed to halt the downward spiral of self-destruction by providing clients with opportunities so they may make the very best of their adult lives.
Our Youth Development projects have expanded considerably and now provide young people with a diverse array of services:
Daylight - Day centre offering informal education and training
CyberShed - 12-computer IT Suite offering informal education and training during the afternoons
HELP - Homeless Education Liaison Project. A prevention project involving our young people training other young people in the community on the realities of homelessness.
Dr Al - Peer Education about the risks and realities of the misuse of drugs and alcohol.
Entry to Employment - 'Pre-work' and 'Getting to work' programmes to get young people into employment.
- D'n'A - supporting young people at risk of losing their accommodation as a result of a drug or alcohol issue.

The projects are open to the young people living at our accommodation projects as well as young people from the wider community.
The programmes are developed to enable clients to develop towards their full potential by:
-
taking more control of their adult lives
-
learning to be a team player and trust others
-
increasing their self-esteem and self-confidence
-
realising their potential and gain the motivation to progress successfully
- developing new skills to live, work and become an active and successful part of their wider community
