At Step by Step we passionately believe in supporting local young people who are going through hard times. We take a unique step by step approach, providing accommodation, personal development opportunities, and specialist support services. Our approach helps young people to identify and fulfil their aspirations.
Excellence in all we do. Teamwork through successful collaborations and partnerships. Honesty and openness. Ownership of our work, words, and actions. Strength by building courage and resilience.
It is our vision for every young person facing adversity, including homelessness, to realise their aspirations and reach their full potential.
1 in 100 young people are now expected to experience homelessness, but only 1 in 5 local authorities offer advocacy to support young people.

End of Eviction Ban Puts Young People at Risk
The ban on evictions during Covid ended on 31st May 2021. We believe that this will lead to a huge number of evictions and an increase in homelessness as a result, and that young people will be considerably affected.
Introducing Brighter Futures
Our new Brighter Futures appeal helps to fund key services that give young people the opportunity to break the cycle of homelessness. Young people need more than a roof over their head: they need the skills and confidence to work towards a brighter future.
