Harvest 2017

Harvest is coming!

This September and October, we will be celebrating Harvest Festival at Step by Step and hope you will join us too, to fill our stock rooms up for the year ahead!

Throughout our Accommodation Services, your donations are used to supplement groceries that young people purchase themselves, as well as being used to make communal dinners each evening and run a range cooking skills workshops.

We also use donated food and toiletries to make up packages for any young person or young family who is in need, which is accessed through our YouthAIMS desk at Crimea Road, Aldershot.

Sometimes all a young person needs to have the energy to go to college, volunteer or work is a filling and nutritious meal.

"The skills Step by Step gave me, gave me the confidence to get out there and do what I do best - be myself."

From a tin of meat to a £10 note, every donation we receive really does help a young person start the journey in building a better tomorrow for themselves with the support of Step by Step.

There are lots of ways that you can get involved at your school, church, workplace or at home. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Make Rainbow Harvest boxes, with a food that is each colour of the rainbow in it.
  • Think of the toiletries you use each morning, and donate one of each  in a toiletries box.
  • Dinner Party - get your friends round for a feast and raise money for Step by Step.
  • Hold a post-service luncheon on Harvest Sunday at church, in aid of Step by Step.
  • Try to do dinners for a week on £10 for a single person or £25 for a family, and use some of the money you have saved to purchase the same ingredients to donate.

Not got time to organise something?  Why not text to donate? Text SBSH16 £2 to 70070 to donate to Step by Step and make a difference today.

We would love to hear about your harvest activities. Please drop us an email or give us a call to tell us all about how you are supporting Step by Step this harvest time.

Donations can also be delivered to our head office in Crimea Road, Aldershot during working hours on weekday, and from this point we will circulate your donations across our services throughout the South-East. We can also arrange to collect your Harvest donations from your school, church or group if required. Please email fundraising@stepbystep.org.uk or call 01252 346112
