Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards 2016

Step by Step scoop 2nd Place in the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards 2016
Step by Step's Amanda Dubarry (CE) and Jessica Oliver (Head of Fundraising) were delighted to attend the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards, on November 17th, where Step by Step were nominated as Charity of the Year, sponsored by James Cowper Kreston.
The Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards (TVBMA) is the premier multi-category business awards scheme in the Thames Valley region. The Awards highlight the best of business in the area and fly the flag for the Thames Valley, so we were absolutely thrilled to have our work with local young people recognised through our nomination.
Excitement grew throughout the evening as the event celebrated outstanding enterprise, entrepreneurialism, innovation, and best practice.
James Cowper Kreston were delighted, once again, to have the opportunity to recognise the significant impact that charitable organisations have across our region. Judges made their award to the charity that could best demonstrate:-
- outstanding achievement and service to its beneficiaries
- innovative fundraising ideas
- achievement of its goals over the course of the last year
"Charities play a vital role in today's ever-changing world, and this is reflected in the increase in the number of charities our specialist charities team looks after. The Thames Valley is home to many great charities which make a massive contribution to our society, and we applaud their achievements. We encouraged charities to enter for this Charity of the Year Award to showcase their talents and the huge positive impact they are making", said Mike Farwell, head of the charities and education team at James Cowper Kreston.
In recognition of the above, Step by Step achieved the TVBMA 2016 Charity of the Year 2nd place, an award we are sharing with Oxford Homeless Pathways. The 1st place award went to Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service, which gives some indiciation of the calibre of company we found ourselves in on the evening.
Congratulations to the team at Alexander Devine, to our shared 2nd place award holders, and to Thrive who took the 3rd place award.
