Big Music Project Success

The recent Big Music Project with UK Youth culminted, for Step by Step, in an event held at the West End Centre in Aldershot where young people took to the stage and showcased their talents.

On 21st April, The Big Music Project co-hosted by Step by Step and the West End Centre culminated with a showcase performance by young people. The project ran for 11 weeks from January to April and was packed full of opportunities for young people to be coached, mentored and taught by renowned practitioners and musicians such as Anna Neale, Ricky Tart, Chris Redmond and James Tanch. The project focused mainly on lyrics and song writing whilst also supporting the emergence of other talents such as photography and music production. It has been a great project that has impacted all of the young people who engaged and hopefully inspired them to further explore and develop their talents, skills and interests within the music industry.

The success of the showcase performance was further confirmed when a local charity, Forward 4 Wiz, who support young musicians, approached the West End Centre with a further 3 months of funding. This will allow young people to develop as a group and individuals under the guidance of a practitioner, whilst building towards a performance at the Step by Step Sleep Out on 23rd June at Aldershot Football Club.

Any young person age 14 years+ who would like to perform, learn about the industry or just listen to music is welcome to join the project which will continue to run at the West End Centre in Aldershot on a Friday evening 6.30-8.30pm.
