Step by Step has an exciting role for a part time Community or General Fundraiser to join the existing fundraising team based in Totton.

The role is for 20 hours per week (0.5 FTE), the 20 hours includes 1.5 hours of paid breaks, so would be comparable to an 18.5 hour role.

Where is the role based and what about flexible working?

The role is based in our new Totton Foyer. Step by Step has a flexible working environment. Step by Step also has hybrid working meaning that some days can be worked from home. Step by Step would be happy to work with the successful candidate to devise a working pattern that works for SBS and you. It would though include some out of hours work for fundraising events.

Step by Step is a charity that passionately believes in supporting young people who are going through hard times. Our unique step by step approach, providing accommodation, personal development opportunities and specialist support services, identifies and fulfils aspirations.

Each year we work with over 1,500 young people aged 11 – 25 and our team play a pivotal role in empowering young people and preventing homelessness.

The Step by Step team are positive, dynamic, professional, and committed to empowering young people to fulfil their full potential.

Step by Step was incorporated in 1989, so have a long history of working and supporting young people.

What would you be doing?

  • Developing a portfolio of community fundraising activities and events to encourage a strong supporter base.
  • Manage the charity's existing and new community fundraisers providing appropriate advice and support
  • Maximise fundraising and ensure long term charity involvement
  • Build relationships with, and make applications to, community groups and local organisations
  • Plan, manage and develop a programme of bespoke community events
  • Manage the administration linked to individual and community fundraisers
  • Attend selected community events acting as a charity ambassador

Step by Step is looking for someone who:

  • Ideally has at least one year’s experience working in a fundraising role, possibly community fundraiser, regional fundraiser, or an individual giving role. We would consider applications from events planners and executives.
  • Has a full driving licence, business class insurance and access to a vehicle for work.
