Step by Step (SbS) passionately believes in supporting young people who are going through hard times. Our unique step by step approach, providing accommodation, personal development opportunities and specialist support services, identifies and fulfils aspirations.
Each year we work with over 1,500 young people aged 11-25 and our Emotional Wellbeing Support Worker will play a pivotal role in empowering young people and preventing homelessness.
Currently the majority of young people accessing our supported accommodation services in the south of Hampshire have emotional or mental health difficulties including, depression, anxiety and commonly struggle to express or regulate their emotions. If these difficulties are not dealt with at the crucial time, problems can escalate and potentially result in more significant emotional wellbeing need, reduced engagement and homelessness. The EWSE is an exciting new post to support young people with emotional wellbeing needs.
The EWSW will contribute to the Havant Foyer and the South Hampshire Supported Lodgings Service. We are focused on empowering young people to achieve independence and providing a range of opportunities, enabling them to optimise their talents and achieve excellent outcomes.
You will be required to meet young people in a location convenient to them either within their accommodation or the community.
Applicants should have experience of working with young people and should demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the issues that may result in adversity. You should be able to work independently and on your own initiative.
It is essential that applicants hold a full UK driving license with access to a car.
