The Role

We need your help to raise awareness and increase income for Step by Step by supporting the fundraising team in South Hampshire.

What does the role entail?

• Attending events of behalf of Step by Step and confidently speaking about our services to our supporters
• Networking with local businesses and organisations to try and get their financial support
• Attending Step by Step events and supporting with fundraising activities such as bucket collections, summer fetes and more
• Attending quarterly team meetings to keep up to date with charity developments and to get to the other staff members and volunteers
• Supporting the fundraising team with other tasks that come up ad hoc!

Skills required

• A personal and friendly manner
• Good communication
• Confidence to interact with the public and speak in front of groups of people
• An ability to network with new people
• Flexibility to be called upon when needed

Training and Support

Step by Step is committed to ensuring that volunteers have an enjoyable and worthwhile volunteering experience. All Office Volunteers will have:

• A comprehensive induction to the work of Step by Step.
• Support from the Fundraising team
• The opportunity to join a supportive, fun and energetic team

Time commitment

This is an “as needed” role and we will send out the dates we need support well in advance. We estimate this to be once or twice a month and it can include evenings and weekends.
