Have these challenging times made you think about your priorities?
Are you looking for challenging but life-changing work?
What Step by Step can offer you?
Who are we?
Step by Step (SBS) passionately believes in supporting young people who are going through hard times. Our unique step by step approach, providing accommodation, personal development opportunities and specialist support services, identifies and fulfils aspirations.
Each year we work with over 1,500 young people aged 11–25 and our STEP Workers (formerly titled 'Support Worker') play a pivotal role in empowering young people and preventing homelessness.
The Step by Step team are positive, dynamic, professional and committed to empowering young people to fulfil their full potential.
What would you be doing?
As a STEP Worker, you will have responsibility for ensuring that young people accessing the service receive both opportunity and advocacy and that they can develop their skills and talents in a manner which empowers them to go on and access employment and/or educational facilities, whilst continuing to take on more responsibilities and to ultimately achieve and maintain independence.
This is challenging work and we have created our own STEP Plan to enable us to train all of our team to this industry-leading standard.
What is Step by Step looking for?
Applicants should have experience of working with young people and should demonstrate both empathy and knowledge of the issues which often result in adversity.
You should be available to work shifts.
To apply, please send your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org. If your CV is successful, before an interview you will be asked to fill in a simple Step by Step application form and all successful employment offers are made subject to a successful DBS check.
