- This is a Monday to Friday role, no bank holiday working or weekend work.

Each year we work with over 1,300 young people aged 11–25 and our employees play a pivotal role in empowering young people and preventing homelessness.
JOB PURPOSE
As a key member of our team, you will engage in community outreach, provide impartial advice, advocate for young people, and collaborate with external agencies. You’ll also handle administrative tasks, maintain accurate records, and ensure the smooth running of the service. This role requires a proactive and compassionate individual, capable of working independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to safeguarding and making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people. A driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing Community Outreach Work in the surrounding areas such as Basingstoke. A driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role.
- To provide impartial, unbiased and up to date advice, guidance and support to young people aged 11-25, supporting them to make informed choices.
- Provide a range of support, this could be Wellbeing Support, Sexual heath support, Drug and Alcohol Support, advice on benefits and housing education and employment.
- Provide effective signposting, referral and liaison with other agencies and services.
- To deliver advice and support including wellbeing support in person, from the community, by telephone and online chat.
- Negotiate and advocate for young people with other agencies, professionals or other individuals involved in young person’s support.
- To maintain an up to date understanding of relevant legislation, national and local policy and case law (e.g. Homeless and housing legislation)
- To provide general clerical duties including; answering queries via the telephone, email and supporting visitors to the service. Answering the front door and covering the front desk is also part of the role.
- Process and co-ordinate referrals internal and externally.
- To maintain accurate records management systems.
- To be committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and to apply organisational procedures and policies.
- The role does require lone working, so must be able to work on your own as well as in a team.
- Must be a competent computer user, including Microsoft packages and other record keeping software.
