Step by Step Receives £100K Barclays Funding

  • 7 January 2021

We are delighted to report that Step by Step has received an incredible £100,000 from the Barclays 100x100 UK COVID-19 Community Relief Programme.

The funding will be used for a variety of projects and resources, including counselling provision, the purchase of essential items such as food and medicine, and supporting our Youth AIMS open-access advice service.

At the start of the pandemic, Barclays announced a £100m Community Aid Package to support charities that are helping people and communities most impacted by COVID-19. £10 million of this funding has been donated through their 100x100 COVID-19 Community Relief Programme, with Step by Step being one of 100 UK charities to each receive a £100,000 donation.

“COVID-19 has created an unprecedented social and economic impact in the UK, with many sadly experiencing greater hardship due to the crisis,” explained Nigel Higgins, Barclays Group Chairman. “Incredible charities, such as Step by Step have been playing a vital role in the UK’s response to the pandemic, ensuring urgent help reaches those most in need of support.”

“We are extremely grateful to receive such significant funding from Barclay’s COVID relief programme,” said Jenna Grant, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Step by Step. “It will help us reach some of the most vulnerable members of our society. Thank you to the Barclays committee for awarding this vital funding.”
