Update: Andrew's run has been postponed due to the latest lock down. He hopes to do it as soon as possible.
Original story (30/10/2020):
For most people, running a marathon would be a serious challenge. But not for Andrew Mitchell who is running an incredible four marathons back-to-back! Andrew is taking on the South Downs Way trail to raise money for Step by Step and the young people we support.
The 100-mile feat will take place over four days, from 6th to 9th November, with Andrew effectively running a marathon each day. The route will take him from Eastbourne to Winchester. He originally planned to do the run in May but the lockdown scuppered his efforts. Now, after months of training, he is ready to take on the epic challenge.
“I’ve done the London and Brighton marathons, but nothing like this before,” explains Andrew. “To be honest, I’m not 100% sure I’ll make it. Towards the end it will be a mental struggle more than anything, but raising money for Step by Step will definitely keep me going.”
Not only is Andrew a Step by Step fundraiser, he also has a place on our board of trustees and so helps govern the charity.
Andrew is hoping to raise £10,000 for Step by Step. He is well on his way to achieving that thanks to a generous £4,000 donation from First Sentier Investors.
