We are pleased to report that our Brighter Futures appeal was a great success, beating its target to raise over £5,000.
The appeal was new for 2021 and invited members of the public, community groups and companies to donate towards the specialist services that prepare a young person for a positive future living independently. The funds raised could pay for life skills sessions, work-readiness training or counselling. £5,000, for instance, would pay for 100 counselling sessions aimed at improving mental health and wellbeing.
We see great potential in the Brighter Futures campaign and with your support hope to do even better next year.
Nick Goom, Head of Income Generation at Step by Step, said: “Brighter Futures is an opportunity for us to raise funds and awareness for the extra services we provide outside of accommodation. Things like teaching life skills and building confidence make all the difference in empowering a young person to move on, and we’re grateful to everyone who donated to this appeal.”
A huge thank you to everyone who supported Brighter Futures 2021. Your generosity will give young people the opportunity for the bright future they deserve.
