Seven Runners Make a Difference with Every Step in Step by Step's New Look

Yesterday's Fleet Half Marathon saw seven runners making a difference for Step by Step with every step they took.

The runners included a team from the MOD, The Phoenix, Aldershot Town FC's mascot, and a member of the Step by Step staff team, Dean.

Dean, took on the Half Marathon as the first of his 2017 year of challenges to get fit and raise funds to support his work with young people facing hard times locally.

Dean says, "Step by step means a lot to me not just by working there but personally too. I'm trying to raise as much as possible to be able to offer activities and a residential for the young people who access Step by Step so they can challenge themselves, and to have a week away to help them with team building, confidence and much, much more."

Eve Silk, Events Fundraiser at Step by Step says, "It was fantastic to have such a visible presence with seven runners stepping out in our new look. We launched the new look at the beginning of the month and the Fleet Half was the first event where we were able to see it in action. Big thanks to each of our runners for choosing to support Step by Step, and a special thank you to our annual runner in the Fleet Half - The Phoenix, for gathering support for us and running with a somewhat weighty collection bucket!"

On the day Jim, AKA The Phoenix, collected a total of £250.38 from spectators and well-wishers at the race.
