We are delighted to report that Open Doors 2021 was our most successful Christmas appeal ever. A huge thank you to everyone who helped us raise over £60,000 – a fantastic amount that will support young people throughout the year.
Individuals, companies and community groups rallied their support at a time of year that is especially tough to be facing homelessness. We had too many thoughtful donors to mention them all here, but we would particularly like to thank Golden Acre Dairy Foods, Fluor, Irwin Mitchell and Kier.
Many supporters sent in messages for young people on their Open Doors gift tags. Some of their kind thoughts include:
“Keep your head up high and keep smiling! You will win through. May love and blessings be yours this Christmas.”
“However hard the day becomes, don’t give up. Speak to people & tomorrow will be a better day. Wishing you a better 2022.”
“Stay positive. Make 2022 the year you move forward.”
Following the success of the appeal, Step by Step CEO Debbie Moreton commented: “It is truly amazing that Open doors has raised over £60,000 this year. I would like to say thank you to everyone who supported the appeal. The funds generated will help us to reach more young people and support them over the coming year.”
