Sleep Out for Young People Facing Homelessness

  • 5 August 2020

We are inviting members of the public, community groups and corporate teams to give up the comfort of their beds for the night and sleep out.

Sleep Out Extreme will see participants bedding down under the iconic hanger at Farnborough Business Park, Hampshire on 9th October 2020. The aim is to get sponsored and raise money for local young people facing homelessness.

With the Sleep Out event now in its 10th year, we have gone back to basics with Sleep Out Extreme. There will be none of the home comforts we all take for granted but which many young people don’t have access to.

While not suitable for those under 8-years-old, the event won’t be too extreme. There will be a marque if the weather turns bad, and food, hot drinks and toilet facilities will also be available.

Step by Step accommodates 273 young people each night, many of whom leave care or escape volatile family situations with nowhere else to turn. As well as providing a safe place to live, we support young people with counselling and personal development to help them break the cycle of homelessness for good. We believe that every young person deserves the chance of a bright future.
