Young people joined us at our Aldershot Foyer for an evening of music and fun. The Step by Step Open Mic night was organised in conjunction with the Hampshire Care Leavers Team to coincide with National Care Leavers Week, and it was the perfect way to get together and socialise with peers.
The Step by Step team set up karaoke and an array of musical instruments, with young people taking to the drums, guitar and keyboard. It didn’t matter their level of ability or choice of music, as long as they were able to express themselves and have some fun.
There were some karaoke classics belted out and everyone got involved in some way. The Care Leavers Team kindly provided food and drinks to fuel insane drum solos and lubricate strained vocal cords!
Charlie Frame, Aldershot Foyer Manager, commented “It was fantastic to see young people relaxed and enjoying themselves. And the Step by Step team didn’t need an excuse to get involved as well! Thank you to the Hampshire Care Leavers Team for helping to put on such a successful event.”
The evening was a great way for young people to let their hair down, socialise and unleash their inner Beyonce!
