Foyers

In Foyers, young people have their own room and will share living space with other young people who are also going through hard times. Foyers offer a positive start to adulthood for young people who don’t have that available to them at home. Foyers provide personal development opportunities, and specialist support enabling young people to build their emotional health and well-being. A Foyer is a platform to connect young people with learning and employment as routes into a future where they can thrive.

During their stay in a Foyer a young person is expected to work with their STEP Worker to make personal progress and take advantage of training opportunities as opposed to seeing their stay in the Foyer as a bed for the night.

Foyers are for young people aged between 16 and 21 and who want to live in a shared environment. Young people who are suitable for a Foyer placement tend to have no secure place to stay, or are living with an immediate threat of eviction. To be eligible for a placement, a young person will be expressing a willingness to gain independent living skills whilst being supported and a desire to improve their situation.

We run Foyer projects in Aldershot, Basingstoke, Havant, Fareham, Gosport, and Shaftesbury.
