EVENTS Events Supported Lodgings and Fostering Coffee Morning - Southampton

20th January 2026

Curious About Fostering or Offering a Spare Room to a Young Person in Southampton?

Come along to our friendly coffee morning on Tuesday 20 January 2026 and find out how you could provide a safe, supportive home through Supported Lodgings or fostering.

Hosted by Step by Step, this relaxed, informal session is ideal if you're considering how you could make a difference in a young person's life, but want to learn more before taking the next step.

Meet our experienced team, chat with current hosts and foster carers, and ask your questions in a warm, welcoming setting — with free tea, coffee and cake.

Whether you're:

  • exploring new ways to give back

  • have a spare room and want to use it for good

  • or simply curious about what hosting or fostering involves

...this event is designed to give you the insight, reassurance and encouragement you need.

What’s on the Agenda?

  • Stories from hosts and carers already supporting young people in your area

  • An overview of fostering vs Supported Lodgings

  • Details of the training, support and allowances Step by Step provides

  • Friendly Q&A with our local team

  • Take-home info packs to help you consider your options
