Mae Partridge Joins SWP Board

Step by Step's Head of Foyers and Wellbeing Services, Mae Partridge, has joined the board of the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership. The SWP is a joint venture of local and national charities that share a common goal: to support young people in the community with their mental health and wellbeing needs.

In her new role as a charity trustee and company director, Mae will work alongside like-minded partners to further the provision available to children and young people accessing mental health services in Surrey.

“I am very excited to join the SWP team,” Mae commented. “The partners have achieved some fantastic work already and I’m looking forward to seeing how I can help expand delivery to reach even more young people.”

Step by Step has seen first-hand the growing need for mental health services among young people. Over the last few years, our Counselling service has grown inexorably, now supporting hundreds of young people each year.

Mae explains: “In managing Step by Step’s wellbeing service, I have become starkly away of the true demand for such provision. Therefore, when the opportunity arose to join the partnership, I jumped at the chance. I hope to have a real impact on the partnership, with the aim of reaching more of the young people who need us.”

Last year, Step by Step’s counselling service delivered 2,869 sessions to 491 children and young people in Surrey and Hampshire.

Step by Step Opens Bedhampton Move-On House

Bedhampton House Upscaled

We are proud to announce the opening of our new move-on property in Bedhampton. This home will support up to four young people aged 18 and over, many of whom might otherwise be left waiting on housing lists, homeless, or relying on a friend’s sofa.

The Bedhampton property is the third Step by Step move-on home – a unique accommodation model for young people ready to move on with their lives but with no viable housing options available to them.
