Sleep Out 2025 was a fantastic success, raising over £15,000 for young people facing homelessness.
Once again taking place at Farnborough Business Park, the annual event saw dozens of committed participants brave the cold and sleep out for the night to raise funds and awareness.
The evening was a mixture of fun, reflection and positive action – taking a stand against youth homelessness.
Proceedings kicked off with music from the Shuffle Tunes choir while the army served a barbeque, followed by members of the Step by Step team leading a glowstick dance session.
Next up were speeches from our CEO, ex-Step by Step resident Stevie, and one of our amazing Supported Lodgings Hosts. These real-life stories were as touching as ever, and a poignant reminder as to why we were all gathered together.
The Sleep Out Awards were new for 2025, with certificates handed out for funkiest sleepwear and highest fundraiser, among others.
The ever-brilliant Bain played an acoustic set while participants chose their pitches for the night, laying down sleeping bags and cardboard on the already-cold concrete. When the lights finally went out and the cold crept in, participants got just a small taste of the challenges facing hundreds of young people each night.
Anda Chiu, Head of Fundraising, commented: “It was fantastic to see everyone coming together for another successful Sleep Out, united in a common cause. As I bedded down in my own sleeping bag, I reflected on how we all have a part to play in changing the reality of young people experiencing homelessness.”
We would like to thank our amazing Sleepers, everyone who sponsored them, and our fabulous team and volunteers. A huge thank you to the following, without whom Sleep Out 2025 would not have been possible:
Step by Step’s Supported Lodgings has become the first service of its kind to achieve Ofsted accreditation. We are now the largest Supported Lodgings provider in the UK, as well as being considered the authority in the field.
