We are delighted to announce that we have purchased our Havant Foyer – and relaunched it as Gathergood House.
The Havant supported accommodation is home to six young people at any one time, and has helped change dozens of young lives over the years. The purchase of the property now gives us full control over its future, serving as an investment for the charity and ensuring the Foyer continues to support young people for years to come.
We celebrated the relaunch with a garden party, before a plaque was unveiled revealing the Foyer’s new moniker. Gathergood House is named after Keith Gathergood – our outgoing Chair of Trustees who has been instrumental in steering the path of the charity over many years.
“The opening of Gathergood House is more than just a new property,” explained Debbie Moreton, Step by Step CEO. “It’s a powerful symbol of what Step by Step is all about. It reflects our deep commitment to supporting young people with safe, stable housing so they can shape their own futures.”
The move from a rented property to one owned by Step by Step is emblematic of our continued growth, investing in the future of the charity, and in the future of the young people we support.
“This is a proud moment for us as an organisation,” continued Debbie. “It marks a new chapter of independence as we take greater ownership of our own destiny.”
We are proud to announce the opening of our new move-on property in Bedhampton. This home will support up to four young people aged 18 and over, many of whom might otherwise be left waiting on housing lists, homeless, or relying on a friend’s sofa.
The Bedhampton property is the third Step by Step move-on home – a unique accommodation model for young people ready to move on with their lives but with no viable housing options available to them.
