Step by Step Supporters Raise £72,000 At Christmas

We are delighted to report that our 2025 Christmas fundraising appeal was our most successful ever. Over £72,000 was raised to support young people, not just over the festive period, but throughout the year.

We approached our Christmas appeal in a different way this year, incorporating two elements: the Big Give Christmas Challenge, where match funding helped to raise over £54,400; and then our Take a Stand This Christmas appeal, inviting supporters to join us in taking a stand against youth homelessness, and raising a further £17,600.

It was incredible to receive such a fantastic response, and heartwarming to see our supporters, corporate partners and the community coming together for young people who needed their help.

We also received some lovely messages for young people, via our star-shaped Christmas gift tags. These included:

“Praying for all at Step by Step. Have faith, things will get better.”

“We believe in you! Take care.”

“Stay safe and have hope for the future.”

“Be strong. Be brave. There are people who care x x”

The funds raised will be used to support Step by Step’s essential, life-changing services, including accommodation, wellbeing support, and advice & guidance.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated over the Christmas period – you have helped change young lives and build brighter futures.

Thank you especially to Boomerang Media for sponsoring one of our festive stars with a generous donation.

We welcome the Government announcement of a new comprehensive homelessness strategy, including £3.5 billion investment over the next three years.

But its success will depend upon how much it offers a joined-up approach and a clear route from homelessness to independent living.
