Yes. Education is important, and we’ll help you stay on track whether you're already studying or want to get back into learning.
Our emotional wellbeing service is a flexible, early support option that helps you manage life’s ups and downs. It is not clinical or diagnosis-based, and you don’t need to commit to ongoing therapy.
Yes, our wellbeing services are free for young people aged 11–25 who need support in Hampshire, Surrey, Dorset, Wiltshire, West Berkshire or West Sussex.
Yes. Everything you share is confidential unless we’re worried about your safety or someone else’s.
When you complete a referral form, we aim to respond within three working days.
You can refer yourself if you meet the age and GP registration criteria. Parents, carers or professionals can also refer.
We aim to offer a first appointment as soon as possible. Waiting times can vary, but we will keep you informed. Our waiting times are frequently lower than other providers of NHS counselling services.
At Step by Step, what you share in counselling is not shared with parents or carers unless there is a risk of harm to you or someone else.
Your privacy is always respected. Our aim is to create a space where you feel completely safe to talk openly.
That’s okay. We want you to feel comfortable. If something isn’t working, we can talk about it and look at your options.
If your substance misuse is affecting your health, relationships, or daily life, it’s a good time to talk to someone. You don’t have to wait for things to get worse.
Yes. Everything you share is treated in confidence, unless we believe you're at serious risk of harm. In that case, we’ll always try to talk with you first.
Absolutely. You don’t need to have stopped or even want to stop. We support young people at all stages.
No. You can refer yourself directly using our form, or just start a chat.
If you're not in one of our covered regions, we’ll help connect you to local services that can support you.
It depends on your needs. Some young people work with us for a few weeks, others for longer. We’ll agree the plan together.
