Each year we work with over 1,300 young people aged 11–25 and our employees play a pivotal role in empowering young people and preventing homelessness.

WHAT WOULD A STEP BY STEP PLACEMENT CO-ORDINATOR BE DOING?

The Supported Lodgings Placement Co-ordinator is responsible for managing their own diary, recruiting, assessing, and supporting host families, ensuring safe, high-quality placements for young people. The role involves promoting the service through community engagement and events, building strong stakeholder relationships, and maintaining accurate records. Coordinators support both hosts and young people throughout the placement, helping to plan effective move-on pathways while fostering a culture of development, positive change, and strong inter-agency collaboration.

WHAT IS STEP BY STEP LOOKING FOR?

  • Step by Step is interested in employing people with the right skills and attitude, so previous experience is not necessarily needed, but we would love to hear from you if you’ve worked or volunteered as a Social Worker, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Care Support Worker, Foster Support Worker, or Community Support Worker.
  • You must have a full driving licence, appropriate motor business insurance, tax, and MOT as driving around your community area may be needed. There is a petrol allowance.
  • As we follow the safer recruitment guidelines applicants are required to complete a short online application form.
  • Successful applicants are required to undergo DBS checks and must provide two references.
