We are proud to announce that our Supported Lodgings service is expanding its reach and will soon be transforming the lives of young people in Wokingham. Step by Step was recently awarded the contract to provide Supported Lodgings in what is a brand new area of operation for the charity.
The new contract will see us providing accommodation and support for 12 young people at any one time, including two crucial emergency beds for those with an immediate need.
Step by Step’s Supported Lodgings service finds safe and supportive homes for young people who might otherwise be homeless. This latest contract win continues the trend of year-on-year growth for a service that supports hundreds of young people each year.
“This accomplishment marks a significant milestone of growth for our organisation,” says Debbie Moreton, Step by Step CEO. “Securing the Wokingham tender means that we will have the opportunity to expand our services and make a positive impact on the lives of even more young people. It is a testament to the quality of our programs and the commitment we have to providing excellent support and care.”
Well done to everyone who was involved in this fantastic achievement, and to everyone who works so hard to make our services a continual success.
Supported Lodgings relies on our network of incredible hosts: individuals and families who open their home to young people in need. We are now looking for new hosts in the Wokingham area.

We are proud to announce the opening of our new move-on property in Bedhampton. This home will support up to four young people aged 18 and over, many of whom might otherwise be left waiting on housing lists, homeless, or relying on a friend’s sofa.
The Bedhampton property is the third Step by Step move-on home – a unique accommodation model for young people ready to move on with their lives but with no viable housing options available to them.
