Brighter Futures 2024 Raises £9,000

We are pleased to report that this year’s Brighter Futures appeal raised just under £9,000 – a fantastic amount that will make a genuine difference to the young people we support.

The Brighter Futures appeal raises funds for Step by Step’s essential wraparound services, including mental wellbeing support, advice and guidance, and help getting into work or education. These services help prepare young people for independent living and a sustainable future.

The £9,000 raised by Brighter Futures 2024 could pay for 272 days’ accommodation support, 450 training sessions, or 180 sets of smart clothes for job interviews.

For this year’s appeal, we teamed up with Big Give, meaning that many of the donations were match funded, thereby boosting the impact they can have.

Jenny Westmoreland, Fundraising Manager, commented: “It’s always fantastic to see our supporters rallying together to help fund the key services that hundreds of young people rely on each year. The Brighter Futures appeal is just one of the many ways our supporters continue to inspire us with their generosity and compassion.”

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the individuals, companies, trusts and community groups who donated to Brighter Futures 2024. As always, we couldn’t change the lives of so many young people without you.

The Prime Minister wants to end rough sleeping

Let's stop it before it starts

We welcome the PM's announcement. The funding matters, the urgency matters, and a government willing to say plainly that no one should sleep in a doorway is good news.

But if we are serious about ending rough sleeping, we cannot only wait until someone is already on the streets. We have to stop them getting there in the first place.
