Foster Care Fortnight 2026 – Step by Step Talking About Fostering That Gives Back

We’re getting involved in Foster Care Fortnight 2026, taking place between 11th and 24th May.

This national awareness campaign from the Fostering Network highlights the crucial role of foster carers in transforming young lives. We’ll be shouting about our unique, not-for-profit fostering agency – Step by Step Fostering – which uses excess funds to support other essential services for young people.

This Foster Care Fortnight, Step by Step will be out and about at various locations, giving members of the public the chance to learn more about fostering, have their questions answered, and see how Step by Step Fostering gives back.

It’s a great opportunity for those thinking about fostering to not only explore their next steps, but consider how their choice of fostering agency can make a difference.

Sarah Faulkner, Step by Step Fostering Registered Manager, explains: “This Foster Care Fortnight, we’re encouraging people to think carefully about who they foster with. Step by Step Fostering is not about shareholders and profit. It’s about putting children and young people first. Our foster carers not only support a child or young person in their home, they’re effectively supporting many others in their community.”
