Junior fundraising superstar Ivy has completed an epic challenge to raise money for Step by Step and young people facing homelessness.
The intrepid 8 year-old walked an incredible 100 miles to raise over £200. She wanted to help other young people and her goal from the start was to raise enough to fund a room for a young person for a week.
Ivy walked 5 miles on the first day of her challenge, completing it several weeks later and earning a Brownies badge in the process.
Ivy and her mum, Ellie, visited our Aldershot HQ to receive a certificate and meet Step by Step Charity Champion, Elise.
Ellie commented: “I am so proud of Ivy for choosing a charity that makes such a difference to young people. I was also blown away at how many miles she wanted to walk, and more surprised that she completed it!
"Thanks so much for having us over today. Ivy was thrilled. She was literally bursting with happiness!”
Elise added: “This is a fantastic achievement from someone so young. From the beginning, she was so determined to reach her goal. Ivy is an inspiration to other young fundraisers and should be extremely proud of what she’s achieved.”
The amazing Ivy is already planning her next charity challenge – to dance for 24 hours straight!
Good luck, Ivy – you are truly a fundraising hero!
Step by Step CEO Debbie Moreton is leading by example at the Step by Step abseil on Saturday 11th July.
Debbie will be taking on the daunting 100 metre drop, representing the charity and the hundreds of young people we support every year. This is despite Debbie's paralysing fear of heights.
