We need your help to raise awareness of Fostering and Supported Lodgings at Step by Step by attending various events across the south of England.
What Does the Role Entail?
- Attending events on behalf of Step by Step and talking about fostering and supported lodgings, e.g. summer fetes, Christmas concerts, Easter events, festivals.
- Networking with local businesses and organisations to discuss what we do.
- Distributing leaflets to local businesses and online.
- Attending quarterly team meetings to keep up to date with charity developments and to get to know the other staff members and volunteers.
- Supporting the fostering and supported lodgings teams with other tasks that come up ad hoc!
Skills Required
- A personal and friendly manner
- Good communication
- Confidence to interact with the public
- An ability to network with new people
- Flexibility to be called upon when needed
Training and Support
Step by Step is committed to ensuring that volunteers have an enjoyable and worthwhile volunteering experience. Our volunteers will have:
- A comprehensive induction to the work of Step by Step
- Support from the fostering and supported lodgings teams
- The opportunity to join a supportive, fun and energetic environment
Time Commitment
This is an “as needed” role and we will send out the dates we need support well in advance. We estimate this to be once or twice a month, and it can include evenings and weekends.
All successful applicants will be required to undertake a DBS check and have two references.
