Join Us for Sleep Out 2023

It’s back! Sleep Out 2023 takes place on Friday 13th October.

Following on from the success of last year’s event, we are delighted to confirm that the Sleep Out will be taking place at Farnborough Business Park once again. It proved to be a fantastic venue, with over 100 people joining us under the iconic airship hanger frame.

The idea of Sleep Out is simple: participants give up their beds for the night and sleep outside with no shelter. It’s not intended to replicate the true misery of sleeping rough, of course, but it’s a good opportunity to raise much needed funds to support those who are facing homelessness for real.

Sleep Out 2023 will feature live music and a barbecue, but when the lights go out, it’s just you, your sleeping bag and the elements. (We do have an indoor space available in the event of torrential rain!)

The event is a key fundraiser for Step by Step, so participants are encouraged to get sponsored by their family, friends and colleagues. All funds raised will help support the key services that hundreds of young people rely on.

“We’re really looking forward to getting together for this year’s Sleep Out,” commented Sarah Mweene, fundraiser at Step by Step. “Last year was our most successful event ever and we had some great feedback despite the cold. Everyone was grateful to be able to go back to their warm comfortable homes – something that is not an option for so many young people.”

Tickets are just £10 for adults and £5 for children.

Come join us on what is sure to be a memorable and worthwhile night.

Will it Go Far Enough?

We welcome the Government announcement of a new comprehensive homelessness strategy, including £3.5 billion investment over the next three years.

But its success will depend upon how much it offers a joined-up approach and a clear route from homelessness to independent living.
