Step by Step is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2026, the UK’s biggest match funding campaign. From midday on Tuesday 1st December to midday on Tuesday 8th December, every donation made through our Big Give page will be doubled, at no extra cost to the donor.
The Big Give brings charities, funders and the public together. Before the campaign, supporters and funders commit money to a shared match funding pot. During Big Give Week, each public donation unlocks an equal amount from that pot. So a gift of £25 becomes £50, and £100 becomes £200. Match funding is limited, and only donations made through our Big Give page during the week count towards it.
Christmas is a time for belonging, and that is exactly what we work towards all year round. Every day, young people across southern England come to us facing or at risk of homelessness. With a safe place to live, someone in their corner and the right support, they go on to take their next steps towards independence.
Taking part in the Big Give means every gift our supporters make that week goes twice as far, doubling what we can do for those young people. It is one of the simplest ways to Take a Stand Against Youth Homelessness this Christmas.
Big Give Week opens on 1st December. If you’d like to be part of it, you can promise your gift now and we’ll remind you when it’s time to give.
Let's have twice the impact for young people who need our support.
Seven young people from Step by Step recently swapped dry land for open water, spending five days crewing a yacht along the south coast with Ocean Youth Trust South.
