Sleep Out Event to be Biggest Yet

  • 27 March 2019

Sleep Out 2019 is already proving incredibly popular, with more sign-ups at this stage than ever before.

The Sleep Out challenge encourages participants to give up their bed for the night and instead endure the cold, hard floor of Aldershot Town FC's stadium terraces. The family-friendly event raises awareness and funds to support local young people facing homelessness and other challenges.

This year's Sleep Out takes place on Friday 21st June at 7pm and is kindly sponsored by Beta Safety Systems. Alan Faulkner, Managing Director of Beta Safety Systems, said: “We are delighted to sponsor Step by Step's 2019 Sleep Out. As a local company, we are passionate about supporting local young people to reach their full potential. Step by Step does incredibly important work and we are proud to be working together to make a difference to the community.”

Around 200 people are expected to take part at this year's Sleep Out. It's a tough night and no one gets much sleep, but participants will be buoyed by an outdoor cinema screening, live music, wood-fired pizzas and fun activities.

Regular participant, Erin Mitchell, who took part in her first Sleep Out aged just 7 years old, told us “It makes me realise how lucky I really am and that some people's lives are not so easy. I want to help try and make things better.”

Registration is just £12 for adults, £10 for children and £38 for a group of four. There are further discounts for groups of 10 or more.
