Open Doors 2022 - Now Live!
We’re excited to announce that Open Doors 2022 is now live. This annual appeal aims to bring in vital funds to support young people facing homelessness at Christmas and beyond.
While for most of us Christmas is a happy time spend with family and friends, for many young people Christmas is lonely and frightening. These are young people without a safe place to live and with no one to turn to.
Step by Step provides accommodation and support for 367 young people each night, but we could not achieve so much without the kind support of individuals, companies and community groups.
Open Doors is an opportunity to raise vital funds. A donation of just £33 could accommodate and support a young person for a day – young people like Zohan who told us: “The Christmas before this I was sleeping on the streets. It was frightening as all the bad people came out at night. I say thank you to everyone for helping me.”
Debbie Moreton, Step by Step CEO, says: “Christmas is an especially lonely time for a young person to be homeless. Our Open Doors appeal helps to make a real difference and give young people the closest many of them will have to a family Christmas.”
